From the beginning of its existence bedtime cartoons have been extremely popular. They were aired on TVP1 around 7 p. m. and usually lasted 10 minutes. Children were waiting impatiently because those stories were one of the very few programs for them during the day. For the youngest, bedtime emmision was a relief after an eventful day and a nice ending. On the other hand, they helped adults to determine the time to send them to sleep.

‘Jacek and Agatka’ was the first Polish bedtime cartoon shown on television. It was on October 2, 1962. The last evening with bedtime emission took place on August 30, 2013. That day ‘Peppa pig’ was presented.
